Posted by Min Tran on 29 May 2008. 20 comments

Although we’ve been busy around here and I don’t think that we can give out any new icons until next week. But once again, I can’t help gratifying the need of the next part of Milky earlier than scheduled. So, here they come, the next 15 icons of Milky.

Milky, a free vector icon set - part 3

Description

This icon set of Milky is designed in EPS 8 vector format, including 48x48 and 64x64 PNG image and SVG files.

Milky will be released on a weekly basic. Every week I will add more 15 icons into the set. So how many icons does Milky have in total? Well, I’m not sure, maybe the set of Milky will have up to dozens or few hundreds or few thousands (hopefully) of icons. Grab the RSS to stay updated with the latest ones.

You can use Milky for personal and commercial projects at free of charge, if you use Milky for your websites, backlinks and credit are appreciated.

Agreements

By downloading this icon set, you must agree with the following terms:

  • Do not redistribute or sell any icons of this set. Do not modify the icons and release as free or paid icons.
  • Do not provide the direct download link nor upload Milky onto other servers for your own share (Please link to this article instead). If you want to spread the words, just link to this article.

Keep’em comin. I featured the first two of this set.
so I will definitely ad this one as well. I have a lot of people come through the Icon Features, so I hope you get some traffic from it.

Hope you’re having the same success with this set as you with the Bright set.

Thanks for this series, I really like the distinctive look.

Now, this is an icon set which is set very apart from the standard “Apple iThing” look a lot of other icon designer tried to imitate (those were turning quite boring, to be frank).

Who long will this series run? Please, tell.

@P. V. Ukraine: Thanks for your compliment.

Frankly, we don’t really care if our icons are “another Apple-wannabe” stuffs or not, we just make things that work, in a consistent way. Since it’s a personal project, we try to make it look different from what we’ve designed for clients.

Regarding the “how long is this series” question, I have no idea. Vu Tran and me don’t have plenty of free time in our hand, so we just spend our little free time for this project. I guess it will be around 300 icons. My goal is creating the biggest free iconset, but maybe you need to lend me some free time.

I really like the complete iconset. It’s nice to have great *green* icon theme when blue seems to be the standard when it comes to interface design. Thanks for sharing your work.

Hi Min,
Keep adding to Milky icon set. They are really attractive and have warm colors. I also would like to see some user and group icons in future sets if you will have any.

Keep it up.

PS. Very nice blog design.

@Norik: Vu has just completed around 200 sketches of Milky, and the next part will be added next week. User/user group icons will be included in the next release. Thank you!

Hello, nice set of icons ! Is it possible though to change the color set from green to blue preserving the gradients (eg. using Inkscape) ?

Min Tran 26 Jun 2008

@miliz: You obviously can do it on your own.
